Calvin Arsenia Live@TheREP
Tuesday, March 26th at 7:30 pm
Tickets $25

The REP Theatre located in Seaside, Florida welcomes back Calvin Arsenia as part of the Live@TheREP Concert Series on March 26th, 2019 at 7:30 pm. Calvin Arsenia has built a reputation for turning the arts world on its head. While the harp has allowed this Kansas City native to become a man of the world (gaining followings in Paris, Edinburgh, and at the Outlyre Harpist Festival in Austria), it’s his unique ability to craft a stimulating setting at his live shows that has all eyes fixed on this conspicuous musician and his breathtaking approach to harp music.
His angelic, classically-trained voice soars over audiences, enchanting even the fussiest of fans, beckoning them to join him as he flirts between genres. He dances between indie, jazz, and electronic music while calling upon rare harmonies and arrangements from his team of performers. But the music is just one part of his prodigious performances, for Calvin believes the art is in crafting the perfect moment. His music is best served live, with sensational performances and high fashion from the visually striking performer who stands at well over six feet tall.

Callaghan Live@TheREP
Saturday, April 13th at 7:30 pm
Tickets $25

“Breathtaking…absolutely incredible” is how BBC Radio London’s Gaby Roslin described a recent in-studio performance by Callaghan.

Originally from the UK, Callaghan moved to the USA in summer 2010 to record and tour with Grammy-Nominee Shawn Mullins. In August 2018, she released her third studio album.

Playing piano and guitar Callaghan offers a stunning voice which earns frequent comparisons with artists like Sarah McLachlan and Emmy Lou Harris. Her songwriting chronicles the stories, experiences and emotions which are part of everyone’s lives. A long-time Shawn Mullins fan, she contacted the Atlanta singer-songwriter online and, after being knocked out by her music, he agreed to produce her debut album. ‘Life in Full Colour’ was tracked in and around Atlanta and released in summer 2012 to a great reaction. The Huffington Post called the album“joyful listening” and Mullins described Callaghan as “a voice the whole world needs to hear”. Since then Callaghan’s been constantly on the road building her audience and headlining shows across the USA.

The latest chapter of Callaghan’s US journey has taken her to LA to collaborate with producers Starr Parodi and Jeff Eden Fair who work at the pinnacle of the movie soundtrack industry, and Anthony Resta who has previously produced Blondie, Duran Duran and Elton John. Together they have produced Callaghan’s latest album simply called ‘Callaghan’. The new tracks and new location have continued to evolve Callaghan’s sound; taking her music in a more pop direction, while retaining the honest emotions of the singer songwriter and all delivered with Callaghan’s soaring, beautiful voice. Callaghan will be back at The REP for the Live@TheREP Concert Series on April 13th at 7:30 pm.

TOWNE Live@TheREP
Saturday, April 20th at 7:30 pm
Tickets $25

Towne played at The REP during the 2019 30A Songwriters Festival and now they are back for more! They will perform at The REP as part of the Live@TheREP Concert Series on April 20th at 7:30 pm. This Nashville-based powerhouse duo consists of Pennsylvania bred, music theater geek, Steevie Steeves and straight-from-Kentucky, former bassist for punk-rock band, The Pink Spiders, Jon Decious. The two talents unexpectedly crossed paths at Skip Ewing’s Horse and Writer Seminar in Wyoming where they immediately connected musically. Not long after they met, they both realized they both lived behind the liquor store on 8th in the heart of Music City, yet they had to travel thousands of miles to find out they were meant to make music together. When they began writing together, Towne’s music began taking shape. The power and passions behind their harmonies and lyrics was incomparable to anything they had experienced as musicians.

Diverse backgrounds in life and music could have taken Towne’s Steevie Steeves and Jon Decious in two very different directions. Instead, their love of songwriting allowed for their paths to cross. “Jon was a breath of fresh air. We were two peas in a pod. We’re really fortunate to have developed the friendship we have. We definitely have each other’s backs,” says Steeves. Their stylistic collision has resulted in Towne’s unconventional sound – demonstrated in the duo’s upcoming releases. “His punk country mixed with my pop soulness is a very interesting dynamic, and it is what it is. It’s definitely different.”

The upcoming releases are just the start of the sound’s unveiling – a preview of their forthcoming EP.  “You get the New York Broadway and back roads country,” says Steeves. “That’s why we’re called Towne. We came from two different places, different musical backgrounds. But we meet in the middle. We’re both songwriters with very different influences.” And with confidence in sound and a name to fit the bill, Steeves and Decious have never been more secure in their path moving forward. “Everything I’ve done has prepared me to be in a band with Jon, and headed where we’re headed,” says Steeves. “All of my experiences have prepared me for this.”

Amy Black Live@TheREP
Saturday, April 27th at 7:30 pm
Tickets $25

The REP is pleased to welcome Amy Black back to The REP stage for the Live@TheREP Concert Series on April 27th at 7:30 pm. As a singer and songwriter, Amy Black is known for her authenticity and versatility. Her live performance, like her songwriting, spans from soft, tender and vulnerable…to fiery, dynamic and powerful. Amy’s love of many classic forms of American music, including blues, country, soul, jazz, and rock n’ roll led her from Boston…to Nashville…to Muscle Shoals…and, most recently, to Memphis to record with members of the Hi rhythm section (Al Green’s backing band).

Amy says, “This year, I’m moving away from revue show format and back to my original music. My set will include songs from all four of my albums, that together represent this exciting musical journey I’ve been on. What a ride it’s been… with more adventures to come.”
