The Central Panhandle Association of REALTORS® (CPAR) is pleased to announce the start of a new Habitat for Humanity home sponsored by the association. A First Nail Celebration will be held on May 12, 2023, at 9 am, followed by a volunteer build day where volunteers will help frame out the home. Light breakfast and coffee will be served.

The ceremony will feature speakers from Habitat for Humanity of Bay County and the Central Panhandle Association of REALTORS® leadership. Guests will bless the house and recognize the new homeowner. Representatives of the City of Panama City, including City Manager Mark McQueen and City Commissioners, will be on site to show their support for the project. Habitat for Humanity of Bay County has selected a deserving new homeowner and will coordinate the build and volunteers alongside CPAR.

This is the second Habitat home sponsored by CPAR, who raised over $118,000 and volunteered at each build day to support Habitat for Humanity of Bay County in 2022. The association is proud to continue their partnership with the organization to provide affordable housing for a local family in need.

“We are honored to support Habitat for Humanity of Bay County in their mission to build homes and communities,” said 2023 CPAR President, Jennifer Ledesma. “Our members are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of our neighbors, and we are thrilled to be a part of this project.”

CPAR initiated a second home after the generous outpouring of support from our REALTOR® members, specifically a very large donation made in honor of REALTOR® Eileen Shaw. Eileen passed away in 2022 and was absolutely instrumental in bringing the first CPAR home to fruition.

Additional top-level sponsors of the build include Remsco Inc., Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Beach Properties of Florida, Econo Carpet Sales, Inc., Think Real Estate, New American Funding, Peoples First Insurance, Clear Title & Escrow and Simply Granite.

The public and press are invited to attend the First Nail Celebration and Volunteer Build Day. This is a great opportunity to show your support for affordable housing in the community. Event details and RSVP are online at www.cpar.us/firstnail.
