Sales rose slightly in the 30A Beaches real estate market during May with 121 homes and condominiums closed and 63 new contracts. Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Beach Properties of Florida closed over $55 million in sales volume with 34.5 transaction sides for the month. The brokerage had nearly $84 million in sales volume across Walton and Okaloosa counties during May. A five bedroom residence in Alys Beach was the highest priced single family home to sell at $11.35 million. A gulf front, three bedroom residence in the High Pointe Resort was the highest priced condominium to sell at $3.385 million. Real estate sales were on the rise on the Forgotten Coast during May in the key communities of Apalachicola, Cape San Blas/Indian Pass, Carrabelle, Mexico Beach/St. Joe Beach, Port St. Joe, and St. George Island. There were 66 single family homes closed during the month with 72 properties currently under contract. The Panama City Beach Summer Concert Series kicks off in June
The series, now in its seventeenth year, is held at Aaron Bessant Park adjacent to Pier Park, and is free. The event features all genres of music and brings out families with young children, dog owners and many picnickers. Food trucks are on site, offering a variety of menu options. No alcohol is sold but attendees can BYOB. The event is especially popular among local residents. “The last few years, attendance has been down a little and that really began in 2020 with the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Cheryl Joyner, director of PCB Parks and Recreation which puts on the annual event. “We are very excited for this year’s series as we have a lot of talented musicians from all over, including several who are local. We appreciate all our sponsors, as we could not do this event without them.” Concerts were on Tuesday nights last year, and officials hope the move back to Thursday will bring out more music fans. The community seemed to favor Thursday night for its “going into the weekend” vibe. “The Summer Concert Series with live music is a great local event to bring the family to,” said Mayor Mark Sheldon. “Switching back to Thursday night is a great way to get an early start to a fun-filled weekend in our community. The 2023 Gulf Coast Jam Presented by Jim Beam wrapped up under a stunning full moon in beautiful Panama City Beach Sunday night. A record-setting sellout of 30,000 country music fans were rocked by superstars Kenny Chesney, who stepped up to headline after vocal cord injury forced Morgan Wallen to cancel, Miranda Lambert, Kane Brown, HARDY, and over 20 other artists. “Everything came together for record attendance, four absolutely wonderful days of music,” said Executive Producer Rendy Lovelady. “Our Jammers came from all 50 states and 14 foreign countries, and I hope had as much fun as we did presenting this amazing experience.” Rain early Thursday cooled things down before the music heated up on opening night at Frank Brown Park. HARDY literally rocked the house after Breland, Dylan Marlowe, Them Dirty Roses and Jonboy Storey performed.
