Pier Park and Partners to Collect School Supplies for Local Youths

 Pier Park will host its fourth Back-to-School Supply Drive July 24 through August 6, 2023 to coincide with Florida’s Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday. The drive will benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Bay County. WHAT: Residents and visitors can drop off their school supply donations at the Mall Management Office (600 Pier Park Drive), Forever 21, Dillard’s, Pink Narcissus or Tervis. Donations can also be dropped off at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Bay County facility located at 16200 Back Beach Road, Panama City Beach, Florida 32413. In addition to helping a worthy cause, donors will enjoy significant savings when shopping for supplies thanks to Florida’s Tax Cut Package. According to FloridaRevenue.com, Floridians will pay no sales tax for learning aids and jigsaw puzzles selling for $30 or less, for certain school supplies valued at $50 or less per item, on personal computers plus related accessories priced at $1,500 or less and for clothing, footwear and certain accessories valued at $100 or less per item. Donors will have the chance to win a $1,000 prize package during a random drawing at the Panama City Beach Chamber of Commerce‘s July 27 Business After Hours. July Sales in Review · Emerald Coast

Sales decreased in the Destin and Miramar Beach real estate markets during July with 118 properties closed and 82 new contracts secured for homes and condos combined. On Okaloosa Island, there was one single-family home sold, 24 condos sold, and 8 condos placed under contract. In Navarre Beach, sales also fell with 5 single-family homes and condos combined closed and 9 properties placed under contract. Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Beach Properties of Florida recorded over $64 million in sales volume across Walton and Okaloosa counties during July. A seven-bedroom home in Crystal Beach was the highest priced single-family home to sell in Destin at $1.95 million while the highest priced property to close in Miramar Beach was a four-bedroom residence in Burnt Pine in the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort at $3.6 million.  The highest priced condo sold in Destin was a gulf front, three-bedroom residence in Regency Towers for $2.65 million. A gulf front, four-bedroom unit in Grand Dunes was the highest priced condo to sell in Miramar Beach at $2.2 million. The highest priced condo to close on Okaloosa Island during July was a gulf front, three-bedroom unit in Waters Edge for $1.065 million.
