Our town is a mix of military and civilian. That means that you find people with and without family to spend Thanksgiving. My first year here I actually hadn’t made any great friends and it was too far to drive to see any family so I spent Thanksgiving in line at Best Buy waiting to get a sweet TV. I love my TV but it was the first time I hadn’t celebrated Thanksgiving in my entire life. I wish I had known that some restaurants throw Thanksgiving and donate any tips to a good cause. These are a couple of places you can do that this year:

Harbor Docks – Traditional Thanksgiving meal that is complimentary. All tips will be donated to Habitat for Humanity and Destin Harvest House. 11am – 6pm

AJ’s on the Bayou – Traditional Thanksgiving meal that is complimentary. All tips will be donated to Kids on the Coast Foundation, raising money for local families in need. 11am – 6pm
