MIRAMAR BEACH, Fla–A card reader has been stolen from the Circle K Florida location on Scenic Gulf Drive in Miramar Beach. WCSO has also learned the Circle K in Destin was also hit.
Investigators responding to the incident at 1554 Scenic Gulf Drive viewed surveillance video showing a dark-colored pick-up truck with two individuals pulling into the business just before 5am this morning as they park at Pump #1. The passenger exits the vehicle and appears to be the lookout. The driver exits the vehicle, but his actions are not captured on video. After approximately three minutes, the occupants get back into the truck and head west on Scenic Gulf Drive.
Because it’s still early in the investigation, we are not sure how much information was stored and what type of information may have been stolen. We are encouraging all of our residents, especially those that may frequent this location, to contact their credit card companies and closely monitor their accounts. We are working with our counterparts at Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office to work these cases and will release additional information when it becomes available. Please protect yourself from becoming a victim. We are doing our best to identify these individuals and put them into custody.
