In June, Emergency Veterinary Clinic – Okaloosa Walton, Inc., celebrated the grand opening of its Emergency Veterinary Clinic with a Destin Chamber ribbon cutting. “Destin Emergency Veterinary Clinic is a caring extension of your family veterinarian,” says Director Kathryn Young. “We exist to provide compassionate and state-of-the-art medical care when your family veterinarian is closed. Our entire staff is committed to providing an environment where pets and people are treated with dignity, kindness and respect,” she explained.
The Destin location is its second site. The first was opened in Niceville 25 years ago by three local veterinarians. That team of three local veterinarians has now grown to 35. Its board of directors began looking to open a second clinic several years ago to alleviate growing pains at the Niceville clinic and to serve clients south of the bay who had trouble reaching the Niceville location during peak tourist season.
Located at 247 Main St. in Destin, the clinic is open Monday – Thursday, from 6 p.m. – 8 a.m., and on weekends, from Friday at 6 p.m. until Monday at 8 a.m. It is also open on major holidays, when local veterinarian offices are closed.
