Doin The Time Warp Again

For the Eleventh time, Redd’s Pub in Blue Mountain Beach will host their Annual The Rocky Horror Picture Show Halloween party, Saturday October 28th. This one will be different. One year ago Redd’s lost their treasured staff member Danielle Sheridan to an automobile accident. Danielle loved cats, and supported local 501c focused on feline rescues. In her honor, Redd’s will be taking donations for 30A Cats, a local spey and neuter charity. Danielle also loved the now famous Redd’s costume parties, featuring front and center in many costumes and themes. The movie showing has been an annual favorite, filling the dinner reservations year after year. “This is a bittersweet year for the showing of Rocky Horror, said Redd, owner and Singing Bartender at Redd’s. We all miss Danielle so very very much, she loved the dress up and went out of her way to be the star of the costume parties. I keep the left over costumes, hats and wigs for customers to play with, and they have become a big hit. I look forward to seeing the character costumes and outfits, along with the amazing folks that know every word and participate, just like when the movie was released.” As this is a costume party, dress in your favorite Rocky character or just plain Halloween, we will have door prizes for best costumes. For reservations for dinner for 4+ people please call or text 850-325-0252. Doors open at 6pm and movie time is at 8pm. There is no... Read More

MORE at www.luxelifediscovered.com Beside releasing her own successful albums and singles, Sky, 62, has written for a host of A-listers; several collaborations with Olivia Newton-John stand out as career highlights. This debut stab at joining musical forces has both forged fresh takes on classics and introduced new, original compositions.Covers include Tom Petty’s Free Fallin’, The Beach Boys’s God Only Knows and Bonnie Raitt’s You. Choosing material was not an exercise in exact science. “It was more trial and error,” Sky said. “One or the other of us would come up with ideas and what we tried to do was not just do the songs you normally think of as duets, but try and find songs that stylistically blend in with both of us and have some relevance to our history, and then try to make it into a duet.”Duets may sound like sweet musical magic to the masses’ untrained ears. Hearing how the sausage is actually made lends fresh perspective. Terms and phrases, such as “accommodating range” and “the challenge of singing into each other’s phrasing,” crop up when Sky is quizzed about the often-tedious recording process and its “challenges. ”“You have to be humble.
