Political Campaigns Embracing Streaming TV

Streaming TV is a digital version of traditional linear (cable/tvnetwork media. Same content, same screen size, but with the ability to apply the benefits of programmatic ad buying. What that means is we can do more than just the sort of standard “Adults 25 to 54”, targeting that you get on linear. With streaming, we can now get very specific with our targeting. We can look for Republican leaning swing voters, or target Congressional districts from a geo perspective rather than from a zip code perspective. So essentially, it’s given us the ability to provide digital style targeting on television screens, which is something political campaigns were never able to access at scale before. WHAT IS STREAMING TV ? It’s always helpful to start with definitions. In this case, “streaming” refers to any and all television programming that is delivered via the open internet. In the US, most (around 80 percent) streaming TV is watched on an actual television set, with desktops, laptops, tablets and smartphones making up the remaining 20 percent. Ad-supported streaming, on subscription (SVOD) or free (FAST) services makes up an increasingly large share of the streaming universe and it is that sector that we will be focusing on in this report. FAST is an acronym that stands for free ad-supported streaming TV services. Essentially, this is streaming live TV without the subscription We do have a dedicated team for political advertising. We sort of have to, because it is very common for us to get a... Read More

Well-earned honor for Julie Porterfield at Niceville Children’s Advocacy Center

Emerald Coast Children’s Advocacy (ECCAC) CEO Julie Porterfield was recently surprised with a note-worthy honor to recognize her years of loyal service. At an ECCAC Board of Directors meeting last month, President Janet Parker announced that as a result of Porterfield’s 23+ years of dedication, founding and running ECCAC, the Board unanimously approved that the Niceville Center will be re-named “Julie Sacco Porterfield Children’s Advocacy Center”. Porterfield’s response to the surprise Center naming announcement was, “I am still in awe… and incredibly humbled to be honored in such an “honoring” way. I give the glory to God. He certainly has given me the grace, wisdom, and discernment to do my very best to make lives better for children. You all have given me the incredible gift of leaving a legacy for my family, especially my son.” By now, most everyone knows that over the summer, the Niceville Center experienced a fire and then significant water damage from the sprinkler system. Since that time, the entire building has been vacated and completely emptied so the Center can rebuild, restore and redecorate. Parker commented, “When this project is completed in the near future, there will be an official dedication ceremony to not only honor Julie Porterfield with the Center’s new name, but also to recognize her for the extraordinary leadership she has consistently shown over the past 23 years.” As many know, ECCAC’s two Centers don’t house children, but they are set up with a multidisciplinary team of child protection personnel, prosecutors,...
