February Sales in Review · Emerald Coast

Activity increased in the Destin and Miramar Beach real estate markets during February with 120 properties closed and 129 new contracts secured for homes and condos combined. Navarre Beach also saw increased activity with 12 single family home and condominium sales combined and 7 properties placed under contract. Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Beach Properties of Florida recorded nearly $74 million in sales volume across Walton and Okaloosa counties during February. A canal front, six bedroom home on Holiday Isle was the highest priced single family home to sell in Destin at $3.45 million while the highest priced property to close in Miramar Beach was a bay front, five bedroom estate in Whispering Pines at $7.5 million.  The highest priced condo sold in Destin was a gulf front, five bedroom penthouse in Silver Beach Towers for $2.704 million. A gulf view, five bedroom penthouse in One Beach Club in the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort was the highest priced condo to sell in Miramar Beach at $3.4 million. Sales and new contracts were on the rise in the Panama City Beach real estate market during February with 151 properties closed for homes and condominiums combined and 101 properties placed under contract. In the Panama City market, activity remained steady with 41 homes sold and 32 new contracts. Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Beach Properties of Florida was ranked in the top 4 agencies in Panama City Beach for the month, earning over $9.7 million in sales volume with 18.5 transaction sides and over $11.8 million in sales volume in Bay County. The highest priced condo closed in Panama City Beach was a gulf front, four bedroom penthouse in Ocean Ritz at $1.14 million. The highest priced single family home to sell in Panama City Beach was a bay front, five bedroom home in Bonefish Pointe at $2.47 million. A Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices sales executive represented the seller in this transaction. Real estate sales were on the rise on the Forgotten Coast during February in the key communities of Apalachicola, Cape San Blas/Indian Pass, Carrabelle, Mexico Beach/St. Joe Beach, Port St. Joe, and St. George Island. There were 38 single family homes closed during the month with 93 properties currently under contract. TV Host and Opera Singer Bethania Baray 

Bethania joined the KJNB-TV team in August of 2022 as the TV Host/Community Engagement Coordinator. She is the host of the feature segment “This Is Home Today”. ​Previously, Bethania was the Director of Education and Civic Programs at Opera Memphis. While at Opera Memphis, Bethania designed and facilitated new community programs, including new partnership with HBCUs, local Latinx organizations, and music academies. ​She hosted a bilingual children’s opera show called “Mijo Milan” which featured her toddler, Milan, as they explored the world of opera through the eyes of children. Her work garnered well-earned praise and was recognized as a 40 Under 40 honoree in the Memphis Business Journal in 2022.​Originally from Mexico, Bethania is also one of the Spanish language anchors for Northeast Arkansas News en Español. ​Bethania holds a Master of Music from the University of Arizona and a Bachelors of Music Education from New Mexico State University.
