Northwest FL Ballet Presents Peter Pan March 11-2

NFB returns to the Mattie Kelly Arts Center stage in the spring on Sat., March 11 at 7:30 p.m. and Sun., March 12 at 2:30 p.m. for a trip to Neverland with Peter Pan. Complete with magical sets and mesmerizing costumes, NFB’s production includes a cast of international guest artists and company members who will take audiences on a spectacular journey in this two-act production. Led by NFB Artistic Director and CEO Todd Eric Allen, the creative team includes the ballet’s choreographer Katia Garza and scenery projection designer Israel Rodriguez. NFB Music Director David Ott will conduct the talented musicians of the Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra, providing live musical accompaniment for Peter Pan. A VIP party exclusively for season subscribers, cast, staff and special guests will also occur immediately following the March 11 performance. Naomi Shihab Nye

​  Award-winning poet and author Naomi Shihab Nye is this year’s featured READS honorarium author. Open and free to the community. Nye will share excerpts from two of her published books: A book of poetry titled Voices in the Air A book of short stories titled There is No Long Distance Now Among her accolades, Nye served as the Poetry Foundation’s Young Poet Laureate from 2019-2022. Nye has said that, for her, “the primary source of poetry has always been local life, random characters met on the streets, our own ancestry sifting down to us through small essential daily tasks.” There will be a book signing, with two of her works available to purchase, following her reading. How a DJ plays to Thousands | Luxe Life Discovered

​  Premier DJ, Scott Lassiter, has over 20 years of live DJ performance experience. The majority of this time was spent in the Atlanta metro market where some of his clientele included the Atlanta Falcons, Mercedes Benz, United Distribution, Mastercraft and the Atlanta Boat Show. He also held long term residencies at the following prominent Atlanta nightclubs: Opera, Backstreet, and the Masquerade. In addition to his DJ experience, he was co-owner of a promotion company that held monthly concerts with national artists for an average of 3,000 to 5,000 attendees where his responsibilities involved booking the artist, promoting the events, event logistics, point of contact for the venue, and event flow.
