Fort Walton Beach Man, Ole Miss DB Arrested in Andalusia Staff Reports December 27, 2025 4:27 pm Crime, Fort Walton Beach, Sports In Brief: Police say a vehicle was stopped for speeding at 111 mph with no visible license plate Marijuana and drug paraphernalia were reportedly found during a vehicle search The driver is listed as a freshman defensive back on the Ole Miss football team ANDALUSIA, Ala. — An early Friday morning traffic stop in Andalusia led to the arrest of a Fort Walton Beach man who is currently listed as a defensive back on the Ole Miss football roster. According to the WAAO Facebook Page, Andalusia Police officers initiated a traffic stop after observing a BMW 3 Series passenger vehicle traveling at excessive speeds and displaying no visible license plate. Police say the vehicle was clocked at 111 miles per hour before being stopped near the intersection of U.S. Highway 29 and Brooklyn Road, near Fletchers Outdoors. Police identified the driver as Dante Jovon Core, of Fort Walton Beach, Florida. Officers reported detecting the immediate odor of marijuana during their initial contact with Core, which led to a search of the vehicle. During the search, officers reportedly located marijuana and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. Core was taken into custody and transported to the Covington County Jail, where he was charged with Possession of Marijuana II and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
