Adam Guest What: Warrior Day training event with ruck march and interactive mission scenarios When: This year’s Warrior Day (recent event) Where: Eglin Air Force Base, Florida Why: To build readiness, resilience, and teamwork for real-world conflicts EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. — Service members and civilians at Eglin Air Force Base took part in a full day of hands-on training designed to strengthen readiness and teamwork during this year’s Warrior Day. The event brought together 12 teams made up of Airmen, Soldiers, and civilian personnel, all participating in a four-mile ruck march across the installation. Along the route, teams encountered a series of interactive stations simulating real-world mission scenarios. These stations covered a wide range of operational areas, including security, maintenance, flight line operations, aircraft management, and medical triage. Participants were challenged with physically and mentally demanding tasks that mirrored conditions they could face in the field. Activities included chopping and splitting wood to start a fire, securing safety wiring, carrying a 100-pound mannequin to simulate casualty evacuation, and donning full chemical and biological protective gear. Mary Esther Man Faces 30 Charges in Exploitation Case Staff Reports April 3, 2026 11:12 am Crime, Fort Walton Beach, Mary Esther, Okaloosa County, Public Safety In Brief: Authorities executed a search warrant as part of a child exploitation investigation Investigators found numerous illicit files on electronic devices A 70-year-old man now faces 30 felony charges A 70-year-old Mary Esther man is facing dozens of felony charges following a joint investigation involving local, state, and federal authorities. Members of the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office Homeland Security Unit, working alongside Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, executed a search warrant at a home on Boulevard De La Parisienne earlier today. According to investigators, the search was part of an ongoing probe into the online distribution of child sexual abuse material. During the search of the residence, authorities say they discovered numerous files of child pornography stored on electronic devices inside the home. The resident, identified as 70-year-old Dennis Cornelison, reportedly admitted to possessing the files. He was arrested and charged with 30 counts of possession of child pornography. Officials say the investigation remains active, and additional details may be released as the case progresses.
