Santa Rosa Beach, Fla—A report of a boat fire leads to the arrest of two juveniles after deputies link them to nine reported car burglaries and two stolen firearms.

Just before 6 AM deputies were called to a report of a boat fire on Trae Lane. While en route, a resident living off of Dalton Drive called to report two juveniles were caught on his home surveillance camera around 4 AM with flashlights hiding under his house. While canvassing the neighborhood deputies noticed two juveniles riding bikes and attempted to make contact. The two juveniles fled and ditched their bikes before running into the woods.

Jamal Jackson, 17, was eventually caught after a short foot pursuit. He identified the second subject as Anthony Dobbs, 17. Deputies were led to the area of Spartina Circle in Watercolor where Dobbs was staying. A van pulled up driven by his mother with Dobbs inside. Also in the vehicle was 19-year-old Jonathan Russell. Inside the residence was 55-year-old Charles Dailey. Both Dailey and Russell were wanted on outstanding warrants out of Okaloosa County. They were taken into custody along with Dobbs.

Nine car burglaries were reported in the areas of Eastern Lake, Seagrove, Lakewood Drive and Watercolor overnight. Multiple items were stolen including two weapons, which were later recovered. All vehicles were left unlocked.

Jackson and Dobbs are being charged with multiple counts of armed burglary, burglary, grand theft of a firearm, grand theft and petit theft. Jackson is being charged with arson for the boat fire.

This investigation is ongoing and more charges are expected. More information will be released when it becomes available.
