The Green Thumb Garden Club will meet at 9:45 on Wednesday, October 17th at the Linkside Bayside Ballroom in Sandestin. Joe Taverniti, the current president of the Gulf Coast Chapter of the International Palm Society, will talk about the cold hardy palms frequently grown in our area, their place in the landscape and the tropical effect they give. Gingers demonstrated will include turmeric, Alpinias, hedychiums, zingibers, dichorisandra, and curcumas that all grow well in this area. He will also bring plants to give away. Price for attending the business meeting, program and luncheon is $25.00. Price for the business meeting and program only is $8.00.
