The Northwest Florida Coast Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) is delighted to announce Bobby Parker as its 2020 Joe Curley Rising Leader award recipient. Parker has been a member of the local FPRA Chapter since 2018. During his tenure, he has served on the chapter board of directors as Time & Attendance Chair and has gone above and beyond to fulfill the expectations of his role. “Not only has Bobby booked all venues for the entire chapter year while staying within our established budget, he also took the initiative to book professional development event venues for the first two months of our upcoming chapter year to assist the incoming board members,” said chapter president Stephanie Pettis, APR, CPRC.
He was nominated by his peers who shared, “our chapter felt Bobby encompassed all that the Joe Curley Rising Leader Award entails after witnessing his hard work and dedication to FPRA go beyond his designated board position. While planning our annual communications summit, Bobby quietly volunteered his time to create rebranded graphics for the event. Additionally, he stepped up to secure and coordinate all breakout speakers while also designing all appropriate signage, presentation information and collateral on behalf of the chapter. He saved the day on more than one occasion by serving as the unofficial on-site technical guru, solving any and all glitches throughout the duration of the event.”
Parker has taken on the task of organizing chapter social events and will soon coordinate the first chapter community service project. Bobby is always ready and willing to assist as he furthers both his career and his FPRA involvement. His future goals include earning his Accreditation in Public Relations as well as participating in LeadershipFPRA.
