Café Thirty-A to Host Annual Christmas Charity Ball in December Proceeds to benefit Caring and Sharing of South Walton Café Thirty-A, located at 3899 East County Hwy 30A, will host its annual Christmas Charity Ball benefiting Caring and Sharing of South Walton on Friday, December 2, 2022. From 6- 10 p.m., the restaurant will be transformed with festive holiday décor for the annual evening event. Attendees will be greeted upon arrival with complimentary valet sponsored by Corcoran Reverie along with a glass of champagne. Inside, they’ll enjoy passed heavy hors d’oeuvres, a dinner buffet, and a cash bar sponsored by Foundation Title and Escrow Series, LLC. Disney Springs The place where food and drink is plentiful. First and foremost, if you’ve never had cookies at Gideon’s, get ready to have your life changed. The cookies & cream are my favorite. Here’s a tip for you, though: Order ahead. Not just a few hours in ahead, at least 24 hours in advance. If you know anything about my last name, you know it’s Irish. If you’re like me and love Irish pubs, Irish food, and history then checkout Ragland Road. Get a beer flight, sip slow on a glass of whiskey, or grab a Kopparberg Strawberry & Lime cider from Sweden. For an appetizer, get the Whiskey BBQ Lollipop Chicken. It’s covered with roasted corn and bacon crumble. Plates of fish & chips whirred past my table, and boy did they look good. But the hottest menu around our dinner table was the Worth the Wait Beef Sandwich. The beef had been braised for 12 hours and was served with sautéed mushrooms, crispy onions, garlic aioli and smoked cheddar on ciabatta. Alaqua Animal Refuge, in conjunction with the Panhandle Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), removed a total of nine horses from a residence in Holt, Florida on Thursday and Friday of this past week resulting in an open investigation for abuse and neglect. One horse that was in the most critical condition was removed by officers on Thursday and brought to Alaqua for urgent medical assessment. The horse was too weak to stand and was in grave condition. On the Henneke horse body condition scoring system, the horse’s score was a “1” or poor—the lowest score possible. The system is used by law enforcement agencies as an objective method of scoring a horse’s body condition in horse cruelty cases. The horse was extremely emaciated with bones protruding from his hips and ribs. He was also completely covered in dozens of open wounds, bite marks, and lacerations—both old and new. In a state of panic from going down, he had thrashed and created additional injuries, including biting part of his own tongue off in the process. Sadly, after hours of efforts of intensive care by our medical team, the horse was humanely euthanized to end the intense suffering he was experiencing. “I have been doing this work a long time and when the initial horse arrived, my heart sank.
