The stunning Northwest Florida Gulf Coast is no stranger to national rankings, often being included in best beach lists rated under many different criteria. A new recognition is now added to the list, as #1 out of the Top 20 U.S. vacation-rental investment spots for 2020. The report was released by rental management site Rented Inc. and Weiss Analytics this July.

The ranking has been reported annually since 2015 with Rented Inc. and Weiss Analytics using property data based on highest return on investment to create the list. A three-bedroom, two-bath single family home rental is used as a base and then compared with top vacation rental areas based on the parameters of homeownership, short-term revenue potential, cost to acquire, annual appreciation and projected changes in asset value.

In light of the coronavirus pandemic, the companies noticed an increase in value for areas that were a short drive from large metro areas. The Florida Panhandle has long been a favorite destination for city dwellers in Texas, Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana and Tennessee.
