Giving Tuesday, a global day of giving that’s set for Nov. 27, is fast approaching, and local nonprofits along the Emerald Coast are preparing various ways for the community to give back.
Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast
The BGCEC, which provides programs to the youth of our area to enable all young people to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens, encourages individuals to donate $50 on Giving Tuesday to help it celebrate 50 years of service to the youth of the Emerald Coast. In addition to this donation drive, a number of local restaurants have committed to giving a portion of the proceeds from Giving Tuesday to the Clubs. Just mention that you’re there for BGCEC at a participating restaurant, which includes Pizza By The Sea (all locations), Chipotle (Destin), Beef O’Bradys (Defuniak Springs) and more. For more details about the BGCEC’s Giving Tuesday efforts, the participating restaurants and to give, visit www.emeraldcoastbgc.org.
Children’s Volunteer Health Network
CVHN facilitates the delivery of comprehensive, direct medical, dental and mental health services to children whose family income falls below certain measures throughout Walton and Okaloosa Counties and surrounding communities. And, it’s encouraging community members to join their Circle of 100, a commitment to donate $100 every month for one year to help provide medical services to the children in need.
CVHN is hoping to secure $3,000 of individual donations for Giving Tuesday.

HOPE Panhandle, Inc.
This new nonprofit, which formed in the wake of Hurricane Michael to provide relief to those affected, has set a goal of $5,000 for donations on Giving Tuesday. HOPE is working in the areas affected by Hurricane Michael to provide essential items, assist in removing fallen trees and installing roofs and connect locals with new jobs. The organization’s current focus is relief, but as conditions improve, it plans on switching its focus to rebuilding and revitalization efforts.
