Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.  Aug. 2, 2019  To meet the growing healthcare needs of the local community, the Point Washington Medical Clinic (PWMC) announced it is now open to serve patients on Mondays. The free primary care clinic located in the Stephens Center at the Point Washington United Methodist Church is now open Mondays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in addition to Wednesdays from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. There are no fees for service and insurance is not required.

“Our mission is to build a stronger and healthier community by providing high quality primary health care regardless of the patient’s means or access,” said Hillary Glenn, DNP, ARNP, and one of the visionaries behind the clinic. “We are thrilled to be able to serve patients on Mondays now as we continue to grow and expand our outreach.”

After Hurricane Michael left many without access to medical care, Point Washington Medical Clinic filled a need in the local community. Volunteer medical providers from the clinic served 1,352 patients in the aftermath of the storm at a mobile medical facility set up first in Lynn Haven and then in Panama City, from October through February.

The clinic offers a multitude of services for all ages, including primary care, general wellness, minor wound care and treatment of simple infections. Management of hypertension, diabetes and high cholesterol are offered when indicated. Additionally, limited testing is done on site and lab tests are provided at reduced costs. The clinic can also provide sports physicals for school-age children.
